nice work maph, I like the fact that the expression is very subtle, we seem to have alot of angry or frowny faces in CG hehe

Thanks GED, appreciate it.
I don't mind all the angry and frowny faces though, it's usually those tiny subtle features in the expression that can distuingish the 'oh my god, another one  ' from the 'holy crap! ' ones. ;)

Anyway, I'm still not very convinced about the eyelids and especially the raphe. So I might touch them up a bit before jumping to the next one.

ged: glad to see you here!

maph, that is fantastic! I love the expression. Very nice job!

vlad, that is awesome there is so much character there. Very beautiful. I think that the eyelids are too thin. Remember that inside the lids you have the orbicularis oculi and a plate of skin. Also, I would like to see the lower lids being affected more by gravity.
But these are both minor points.
The palpebral ligament is beautifully done as well.

I just posted the nose and I plan on posting the mouth this week and I want to add a few more sections today or tomorrow. I apologize for sort of disapearing this week. But I've been spending so much time working these days that my wife is very unhappy, so I had to take care of that :)

Thanks,

Ricky

I don't have anything to show, but I just want to say that it's marvelous.
The advice you are giving mookiemu are priceless, I planned to do such a workshop on a french forum I manage, I will try to do as good as you do :D .

The sculpting who are displaying here are very good, you will push the digital sculpting to a next step (or a previous step ;) let's go back to the classical knowledge)

Thx for this forum.

Fantastic work as usual vlad!
The raphe area around his left eye looks a bit funky to me. Could be the indent that's tricking me though.
You also might want to pinch up the eyelids a tad more. :)

The eyes are beautiful! I agree with Maph, i think he is spot on.

If you get a chance, can you please post this in the nose section as well, There are a few points I'd like to make on your beautifully done nose, as soon as I get a moment :)

Bonjour tout le monde :D

I have to participate to this great forum, I finally get some time to do something.
I spent some hours on it, 1hours on the eyes and more then 5 hours on the nose, I made tons of nose with this face, made on, destroy it and so on, it is the most difficult part for me to achieve. I will post it in the nose section ;)

For the moment I didn't emphasize on anatomy, but I will, I will read and learn all the muscle, this one was an observation exercise, I hope it's ok and I am not going against the rules.

So here is my piece.

Image

I wanted to do a MR render, but I think this screenshot is enough for the moment and before I will be able to tame MR, you will be able to do tons of crits ;)

Bon jour mon ami! This is terrific! Beautifully done. I love it! There are a couple of points that I would like to make about this, but I have a few deadlines and I'll be up all night tonight trying to finish them. In the next few days when I get a moment, I promise to look this over and give you tons of crits :) That goes for you too Vlad :)

wow this is excellent, I really like how solid the forms are. the inside of the nostrils going down to the mouth looks a bit odd but thats about all I can see. :)
